Through Allianz Worldwide Care’s partnership with StandbyMD™ in the US, we can now offer you immediate access to a qualified physician, at night, during weekends or when travelling, avoiding any unnecessary trips to a hospital Emergency Room as well as the possibility of long waiting times. If you are travelling on business, with meetings scheduled and little available time, this new service will provide you with prompt and convenient access to medical care.

Please note that the StandbyMD™ medical services described below are available to members of groups with “Worldwide” geographical cover. However, even if the USA is not included in your region of cover, if your employer has selected the benefit for “Emergency treatment outside area of cover”, these StandbyMD™ medical services will still be available to you. Please see below for further details. Your Table of Benefits will confirm which benefits are available to you.

Through StandbyMD™, you can access the following medical services directly from your home/hotel room in the USA during out-of-hours periods or while travelling:

• Telephone consultations
  24hr-a-day access to telephone consultations with a qualified physician
  
• In-room physician visits
  24hr-a-day physician ‘house calls’ (generally within one hour) where required, including physician administered or formulary generic medications and access to 24hr-a-day follow-up care
  
• Express emergency room triage and hospital admittance
  24hr-a-day express emergency triage and referral to a contracted area hospital for emergency evaluation and treatment
  
• Replacement of lost or forgotten prescription refills
  If you lose or forget your maintenance medications while travelling, a supply equal to your stay (up to 14 days) will be refilled and delivered to your hotel
  
• Specialist referral
  Assistance in identifying and scheduling an appointment with board-certified medical surgeons and specialists
  
• Co-ordination of emergency dental care
  Access to same day appointments for emergency dental treatment
  
• Co-ordination of in-house chiropractic care
  Access to same day appointments for emergency chiropractic treatment

Accessing StandbyMD™

To access StandbyMD™, just call our toll-free number (+1) 800 649 7119. You’ll simply need to have your policy number ready (available on your existing policy Membership Card).

Once your policy number and treatment eligibility has been verified, an StandbyMD™ physician will call you back (usually within 15 minutes) to undertake triage and assist you in receiving the appropriate and necessary medical care. You will be able to access these services on a “cashless” direct settlement basis.

Please note that these StandbyMD™ services are only available in the US, for medical care that is required outside of normal working hours and/or when travelling. These services are supported in both English and Spanish. A telephonic translation service is available for incoming calls to the StandbyMD™ toll-free number, as and when required.

StandbyMD™ medical services are offered in conjunction with your Table of Benefits, subject to the limits of your cover and our policy terms and conditions.
