Allianz Worldwide Care and APRIL International Expat join forces to simplify SME activities

According to the study ‘PME, les clés de l’export' [SMEs: the key issues in relation to export activities] published by TNS Sofres, the export activities of 59% of SMEs represent over 25% of their turnover¹. 87% of them hope to boost their export turnover in the coming years¹. The same TNS Sofres’ study also reveals that bureaucracy and language barriers feature among the main difficulties faced by SMEs when trying to expand their business abroad. SMEs have a duty to ensure the health and safety of their employees working overseas, particularly in cases of expatriation. In order to make French VSEs/SMEs more aware of this obligation to provide social protection and to enable them to arrange cover for all of their employees (whether they be expatriates, inpatriates or third country nationals, regardless of their destination country), Allianz Worldwide Care has joined forces with APRIL International Expat to create an innovative offer, the Expat Protection Plan, combining the experience of two international health specialists.

Expat Protection Plan: advice and expertise from two specialists

Allianz Worldwide Care and APRIL International Expat have spent many years assisting their client companies in their overseas development. Now they offer SMEs an attractive and sustainable pricing system thanks to their expert knowledge of healthcare costs from country to country.

Expat Protection Plan: personalised cover

This insurance solution has been specifically designed to offer the maximum number of cover options to suit different business profiles. Companies are free to select only those cover options that actually meet their needs and can adjust the level of cover according to their budget. Allianz Worldwide Care and APRIL International Expat offer them cover for healthcare costs, repatriation assistance, top-up to the social security, or even personal liability, so that they can protect their employees from the unexpected. With the Expat Protection Plan, companies can choose:
  • Between two modes of healthcare cover: complementary to the cover offered by the Caisse des Français de l’Etranger (CFE) or full cover 'from the first euro', and
  • Between two levels of cover (up to EUR1,500,000) and several modular plans:
    • Hospitalisation only
    • Hospitalisation + dental plan
    • Hospitalisation + out-patient and optical plan
    • Hospitalisation + out-patient and optical plan + dental plan

The Expat Protection Plan offers 100% reimbursements on various medical costs; however, companies have the option of reducing their premium by opting for a 90% or 80% level of reimbursement for the ‘Out-patient and optical plan’ module.

Expat Protection Plan: top quality service for employers

APRIL International Expat listens to the needs of companies searching for a (new) international insurance solution and offers them a personalised proposal within 48 hours. Companies’ HR or administrative representatives benefit from dedicated teams throughout the duration of the contract that will respond to their requests to register/cancel employee membership, monitor premiums and deal with any other inquiries relating to their contract. In case of medical emergencies (for example, an employee's evacuation or emergency hospitalisation), the company is kept informed of all progress made in assisting their employee, every step of the way.

Expat Protection Plan: special services for expatriated employees

Insured employees benefit from the best in international management with innovative services, to simplify their day-to-day activities:
  • Acceptance of claims submitted via email
  • 48 hours claim process
  • 24-hour multilingual telephone assistance and advice
  • Worldwide direct payment service for hospital fees
  • Monitoring to ensure prescribed treatments run smoothly
  • Free choice of doctor or hospital and access to the insurers’ medical network
  • Range of online services
