One of only 19 organisations in Ireland to achieve a Platinum Excellence Through People award
International health insurer, Allianz Worldwide Care, which employs almost 500 people, has joined an elite group of businesses having been awarded Ireland’s highest national standard for human resource management, the Excellence Through People
Platinum award. The company, which recently announced it was expanding its operations, was commended by award judges for its commitment to employee investment and its ‘I Make a Difference’ initiative, rewarding staff who exceed customer expectations in service-led activities.
The announcement follows a rigorous assessment of the company with particular attention paid to the areas of Training & Lifelong Learning and Recruitment & Selection as well as Leadership & People Management, where Allianz Worldwide Care scored highest. Companies must score above 80 percent in each of eight assessment categories to qualify for a Platinum award.
To date, only 19 out of more than 300 organisations using the Excellence Through People
Framework have achieved the Platinum award. The rest have been awarded a Standard or Gold award. Allianz Worldwide Care will retain the award title for two years, after which time the company will be reassessed.
Claire Cusack, Head of Human Resources at Allianz Worldwide Care, comments; "Having achieved the Standard level in 2009 we felt this year we should challenge ourselves further by going for the Platinum level. The performance and development of our staff is fully aligned with the company’s strategy and employees are all very much aware of their own contribution to the quality of our service levels. We remain strongly committed to the employees’ learning and development and this award ensures that we remain best-in-class in terms of all HR deliverables. I am delighted and proud to be part of this award winning team."
Excellence Through People
is the only quality standard dedicated to the role of people and their impact on business. It provides a recognised framework for organisations to enhance performance and realise strategies through the management and development of their people.
The focus of the standard is to get organisations to see their people as a key source of competitive advantage.
Claude Daboul, Director of Sales, Marketing and Operations at Allianz Worldwide Care, explains; ‘We are dedicated to providing the highest possible standards for our clients and that starts with recruiting and retaining professional, motivated employees. Our staff is what truly distinguishes us within our market and we are continuously working with them to facilitate their development and progression within the company’.
Allianz Worldwide Care, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz SE, specialises in providing international health insurance for employees, individuals and their dependents, wherever they are in the world.
