Leading international health and life insurer, Allianz Worldwide Care, has announced it is to create 100 new positions in Dublin and move into a number of newly purchased offices in Park West Business Campus, Dublin 12, where its Irish Branch is currently based. The new roles will span the entire business with an emphasis on claims, helpline and client services, medical services, underwriting and pricing.
The new openings have been created following a number of new client wins, particularly in the Intergovernmental Organisation (IGO) sector, which now accounts for a significant proportion of the health and life insurance company’s client portfolio.
The 100 new jobs will add to the 700 strong workforce currently operating at Allianz Worldwide Care’s operational hub in Park West, Dublin. The company has already created 74 new jobs this year and the recruitment drive for the newly announced 100 additional jobs is now underway.
To accommodate the expansion, and with an eye on future growth, the company has recently purchased four office blocks in Park West's Joyce Way, a stones throw from its previously rented offices at Beckett Way, Park West. The acquisition brings Allianz Worldwide Care's Dublin office footprint to over 51,000 square feet and affirms the company's long term commitment to Ireland and the creation of employment in the Dublin region.
Chief Executive of Allianz Worldwide Care, Ron Buchan said, "Allianz Worldwide Care has experienced strong and consistent growth over the past ten years, something which can be attributed to the invaluable work of its greatest asset - our staff.
The 100 people coming on board will benefit from long term development and training opportunities, and experience a client-focused culture which has enabled the company to grow steadily, even in times of economic uncertainty. I believe that the investment in the offices at Park West, together with the creation of these new roles, sends clear signals about our confidence in Ireland's economy and workforce talent. As an international business, we have always been able to recruit the skills and language abilities that we need here.”
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD, who held a meeting with senior Allianz executives on a recent St Patrick’s Day mission to Germany, said: “At the heart of our Action Plan for Jobs is deepening and developing the impact of multinational investment here, and in the past 3 years we have seen an extra 18,000 jobs created in this area. Today’s announcement by Allianz Worldwide Care, a world-leading global health insurance company, that it is creating 100 extra jobs, on top of 74 already added this year is a further boost. I wish Ron and his team every success with this project”.
Martin Shanahan, CEO at IDA Ireland said: “Allianz Worldwide Care is one of a number of Allianz businesses located in Ireland. The addition of 100 new jobs is a strong endorsement of Ireland’s ability to provide the skills and range of languages required for the financial services industry. This expansion plus the recent increase in headcount and the company’s significant investment in new property is most welcome and illustrates Allianz Worldwide Care’s confidence in Ireland as a compelling location for global businesses.”
The emphasis and importance that Allianz Worldwide Care places on its people was once again brought into focus by the recent recertification by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) of the Excellence Through People Award (ETP). The ETP was awarded after a comprehensive assessment of the company's Human Resource strategy and procedures, including one-on-one interviews with staff and management.
The NSAI auditor’s report stated that the company’s “core values contribute to high performance levels, quality and cost efficiencies. The organisation continues to develop its commitment to employee engagement, learning and development in order to improve its contribution to the overall success of the organisation.”
Mr Buchan said, “Retaining the NSAI Excellence Through People award was and is hugely important to us as it is emblematic of the culture we have nurtured within the company. Ours is a people-focused business and the foundations of our success lie within the high levels of service, flexibility and rapid response times that we offer all of our clients.”
A career with Allianz Worldwide Care offers a number of significant benefits including travel subsidy; health insurance; life assurance; pension plan; disability benefit; subsidised car and home insurance; childcare allowance and the company has an active sports and social club.
