Your new health insurance administrator

From 1st January 2019, Allianz Care will be the new administrator of your ECB Health insurance scheme.

Our focus is on protecting the health and wellbeing of our clients and their families, through the delivery of innovative services and plans.

Rest assured, the change of administrator will have no impact on your current cover and insurance benefits. There will be changes in the addresses and telephone numbers for your claims handling from 1st January 2019. You will be provided with these new contact details in advance.

Claims submissions

There is no change to your health insurance scheme in 2018 

Your current administrator remains in place until 31st December 2018 and you should continue to submit your claims as normal until then. To ensure prompt payment and avoid delays, it’s important to submit all claims to Cigna before 31st December 2018. Information on how to submit your claims from 1st January 2019 will be provided shortly.

Data transfer

We recognise the importance and sensitivity of our customers’ data and aim to make the transition as smooth as possible. We are working with your current administrator to transfer the necessary medical and personal data to our systems directly.

This data transfer is fully supported by Data Protection Officers from Allianz Care, ECB and Cigna. We are working closely together to ensure that all aspects of data protection regulations are complied with. 

Rest assured, at Allianz Care your data is in safe hands. Only authorised staff will have access to ECB health data while sensitive medical data will only be handled by staff covered by medical secrecy rules. 

Please note, no personal bank data will be exchanged between Cigna and Allianz Care.

Staff from Allianz Care will be in the ECB offices in Frankfurt on the above dates to introduce the services of the new ECB Health Insurance administrator from 01 January 2019 onwards.

The format will be a short introduction of Allianz Care and a presentation of the transition planning and future services, followed by a Questions & Answers session.
